Smiling Windmill

The first set of Metallion Smiling Windmills were erected at Avalon Park in Lower Hutt, and have become a familiar part of the landscape for travellers along Fairway Drive to and from SH 2.

The idea has since been picked up elsewhere in New Zealand, including a set of "Memory Windmills" at Brick Bay Sculpture Trail, north of Auckland. At Botany Bay east of Sydney, stands the "Sculpture by the Sea" Remembrance Windmill.

Produced to Leon van den Eijkel's basic design, each installation is adapted suit the specific location.
