Projects

The Morgan's Golf Club project was to create an extensive variety of outdoor furniture from recycled materials, utilising a number of bold and bright colours to create a striking series of seats, tables, and bins. With all this in mind, we got to work.

The slats used were cut from our durable recycled plastic. Virtually maintenance free, the range of built-in colour options offered a high UV resistance, ensuring the longevity of the product for decades to come. We're greatly fortunate that our partners at Replas NZ - Recycled Plastic Products have incorporated more soft plastic into the broad range of products, diverting more soft plastics from the landfill.

This same approach was taken into the production process, making sure we do everything possible to reduce the amount of waste material generated during both cutting and assembling. Within a few days of having started the project, we were already seeing the first fleet of rubbish bins ready for installation.

The Morgans had initially provided specifications that were both broad but achievable; to preset them with designs for an outdoor table setting, as well as matching benches and bins. They needed something not only sustainable, but also colourful, bright, and bold - Something outside the normal. After much discussion with the team, the Morgans committed to our range of recycled plastic furniture and never looked back. Once we had settled on the final concepts, the whole process was a breeze and the solutions we were able to offer were numerous. From beginning to end, the Morgans were a brilliant customer to work with.

Unlike timber based slats, our recycled HDPE plastic slats are tough, strong, and durable. They can last for many years outdoors and in continuous contact with fresh or salt water and many corrosive chemicals that would destroy most metals and completely dissolve through timber. We even tested it in sulphuric acid just to be sure. The colour is both vibrant and UV resistant, retaining its workshop appearance for decades. Fortunately for us, the recycled material is able to be cut, drilled, and sanded exactly as if it were traditional timber slats - no painting required.
